Employment & Training Programs
Adults with developmental disabilities can contribute to the extent their
abilities allow at Howard Training Center employment programs.
Several paths to employment are available, and include supervised and supported steps.
Programs on HTC's campuses include production, maintenance, and kitchen work.
Programs in the community include employment with both public and private employers.
Community employment offers time-limited and long-term supports.
Transportation Services
Howard Training Center provides transportation for individuals to get to work, and,
due to the hours they work or their work location, cannot use public transportation.
Adult Services
Day Programs offer basic living skills training in such areas as selfcare
(eating, grooming, toileting, etc.), mobility, socialization, and leisure time skills.
Training occurs in classroom settings and the community.
Family Living
Home At Last matches private homes for persons with developmental disabilities.
Host families are people who have chosen to include a person with a disability in their family and home.
The individual and family are carefully matched to provide the basis for stable,
long-term family living options which are mutually satisfying.
